Getting Started with Janus Design Residential Services

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM JANUS?

First, we’ll discuss your dreams and goals for the space. It is important to achieve the look you want so your home exemplifies what is important to you, and reflects your values and life.

Next, we'll work up a plan. Often this includes using what you already have, but in fresh, new ways (Respecting the past…Embracing the future!). Along the way I’ll suggest ideas that may include everything from new wall color to fabric selections. Since your budget is important, I'll pay close attention to saving you money.

Finally, we'll take action. On mini makeovers, we often get right to work rearranging furniture, accessories and bookshelves. If there is time, we may even re-hang art work. Please remember during the "take action step" that you will need to either have someone on hand to move furniture, or let me know so I can bring a helper with me, for an additional fee.

WHAT ARE THE USUAL FEES?

Janus offers design consulting services for $115.00 per hour, with a two hour minimum for the first visit. For additional consultations, there is a one-hour minimum charge. For clients located outside the greater Houston area there is an additional travel charge of $40.00. Payment by cash or check is requested at the time of service for small projects. Larger, more involved projects require a Letter of Agreement and retainer and will be invoiced monthly.

Understanding most of us have busy schedules, it is the goal of Janus Design to meet your needs in a fast and efficient manner. It is best to meet at your location when solving design problems or to shop together to find fabrics or furniture. Scheduled pre-paid phone/e-mail consultations and/or joint shopping for purchases and other acquisitions can be arranged to meet your needs.
