Designer, decorator, style maven, trendsetter, artist--Janus Augusta Lazaris has always been passionate about great design. Since beginning to remodel homes over twenty years ago, Janus has brought an artist’s eye to countless commercial and residential projects ranging from interior design, makeovers, and remodeling, to exterior entryway, garden and pool design. (Janus loves meeting design challenges so much that she has been known to fall asleep dreaming about new possibilities!) Equally important, Janus understands completely the importance of reinvigorating a business space or creating a beautiful home where real families can live, while meeting the need to stay within a budget. Finally, her background in marketing makes her particularly effective at assisting small and mid-size businesses clients with design questions related to office efficiency, business image, curb appeal, seasonal marketing and event planning.
Janus has studied Interior Design, Garden Design, Home Construction, Lighting and Stage Design at The University of Houston, Houston Community College, and at Rice University. She holds a Business Degree from U of H, with a minor in Interior Design. As an artist, Janus has painted for years, often creating original artwork for clients. She is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers, Interior Decorators of Texas and Interior Designers Protection Council. Janus has not only completed jobs throughout Texas but is currently working on a project in Europe. In the last few years she has traveled to Athens, Barcelona, Paris, Venice, Florence, Rome, and Toronto. Her love of design has taken her on numerous trips throughout the U.S., and she is a frequent visitor to The Dallas Market.
Because Janus believes so strongly in creating wonderful homes no matter what the budget, she regularly donates a percentage of all fees to Habitat for Humanity. She is an active volunteer for them, as well as for the Furniture Bank of Houston and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Janus is the ultimate "Soccer Mom" with two active sons. Along with her love of traveling, she enjoys ballroom dancing with her husband of over twenty years.
